About William

A career built one
handshake at a time.

William Hill, J.D., is 92 years old and has spent fifty of those years inside the California legal system — first as a practicing attorney, and today as a non-attorney law clerk in Sherman Oaks, California.

The practice today

After decades practicing law in California, William stepped away from the attorney role and reopened his office in a different posture: a quiet, non-attorney law clerk practice focused on the areas he knows by heart — real estate, estate planning, trust administration, probate, and related California matters.

The work is intentionally narrow. He no longer represents clients in court or signs court papers as counsel. Instead he sits across a kitchen table or on a phone call and helps people understand the documents in front of them: what a living trust really does, why a deed says what it says, how a trustee is supposed to handle the first ninety days after a death.

When a matter genuinely requires a licensed attorney — contested litigation, certain probate filings, anything that has to be argued in court — he says so plainly and helps you find the right Valley attorney for it. That clarity has kept his phone ringing for half a century.
